Case Study: AWEX Wallonia – Custom Rental

Challenge

We were invited to a public bid on a Pavilion for an overseas (Belgian) client, exhibiting at the Globe Forum in Vancouver. The original bid request was published in early December for an early February show, but it was made known that final decision will not be published before January 10th, leaving the proponents 3 weeks to complete production phase. Budget for the booth was capped by the client at a relatively modest price point. We put in a bid for two versions of the same layout, based on rental inventory, but with custom enhancements, at two different price points. We ended up being the successful proponent for this bid, as the client was appreciative of the clear and clean European design language and compliance with the client’s branding as well as their budgetary scope.

The WiiKan Way

Based on our Custom rental inventory components we have implemented two staggered large format backlit lightbox frame graphics to create a visibly bold statement. With added on Custom elements such as a pony wall and front stage, we introduced birch wood surface finish to tie this with the Globe event Green theme. We used light grey carpeting, white tables and chairs as well as white sofas to maintain the sense of calm and integrity in the booth, and maximize visibility of client’s graphics. The resulting space was exactly what AWEX Wallonia was envisioning as their Globe Forum presence. Our client has received a very positive feedback from their internal contacts and from their visitors alike, and were proud to have such a booth as a backdrop to their interactive marketing activity on the show floor.
